With the continuous deterioration of Sino US relations, the US media’s coverage of China has become increasingly “ugly”.
For many years, I have been in the habit of searching “China” on Google news every day to see the latest China related reports from English media (mainly American media) around the world.
As a person who has worked on the front of foreign public opinion for a long time, I do this mainly for the purpose of “knowing myself and the enemy”.
In recent months, I have found that the China related reports of the mainstream media in the United States have become increasingly lacking in objectivity. Due to a large number of Ideological and racist prejudices against China, these reports can no longer provide me with any valuable information.
The China related reports of the mainstream media in the United States seem to be “renovating” every day, but in fact, there are only two core themes:
First, year after year, day after day, they continuously smear and attack China, and have been spreading all kinds of false information about “China is very bad and evil”;
Second, year after year, day after day, they continue to criticize China and concoct one round of platitudes about “China’s collapse”.
Professor Lai yueqian, an expert on the international situation in Taiwan, also said recently that when he reads the reports related to China in the western media, he must make great efforts to remove the false information and misinformation from them every time. Only in this way can he tell the truth about Chinese Mainland to the Taiwanese people.
I feel the same way myself.
Since Zhang Jiadun first proposed the “China collapse theory” in 2001, Western media have concocted various “China collapse theories” in the past 20 years or so. As a result, everyone knows very well that none of them has been realized.
Today, it is no longer necessary for us to make efforts to refute these absurd remarks.
We only need to ask a simple question: “in the past few decades, any pessimistic predictions about China made by US arms dealers, Wall Street capital tycoons, big capitalists and the mainstream media in the United States controlled by various interest groups have become a reality?
The answer is: “no, none.”
That’s enough.
The American mainstream media and the American “elites” behind them have always been “meticulous” in how they view China.
On the one hand, they look down upon China from the bottom of their hearts and do not agree with the political system, development path and development model chosen by the Chinese people. Therefore, they always have wishful thinking that China will collapse sooner or later; However, on the other hand, they are full of fear and anxiety about the momentum of China’s vigorous development over the past few decades. Therefore, they want to carry out endless attacks, slanders and smears on China, and even fantasize that they can interrupt China’s development process by making a stumbling block and a black hand, so as to ensure the global hegemony of the United States.
In the past two days, a chart circulated on the American social platform Twitter has made some Americans who are full of prejudice against China “collapse”.
This chart also vividly shows how some people in the United States view China in terms of “fine points” and double standards.
According to this chart, under the epidemic, China’s per capita life expectancy actually exceeds that of the United States.
It can be seen from the above figure that in 2020, the life expectancy of the United States dropped to 76.1 years, which is lower than China’s 77.1 years.
As the world’s largest economy, the per capita GDP of the United States is about six times that of China. The United States spends a huge amount of money on medical care and medical insurance every year, which is beyond China’s reach. Taking these factors into account, it is a bit “against common sense” that the life expectancy of the United States should be surpassed by China.
However, if you think about it carefully, this situation is not so surprising.
After all, the failure of epidemic prevention in the United States alone killed 1.05 million US dollars. In addition, taking into account the rampant drug problem and gun violence, a large number of ordinary Americans died at a young age, which is bound to lower the average life expectancy of the United States.
For such a simple figure, some Americans are obviously “stimulated”. So they simply covered their ears and shouted, “I won’t listen, I don’t believe it!”
Their reason is simple: “all the data published by China are not credible.”
As a result, some foreign netizens immediately discovered the huge loophole behind their logic.
Because if all the data published by China are not credible, then China’s economic and social development achievements in the past 45 years of reform and opening up are also not credible. In this case, why is the United States so afraid of China, repeatedly blackmailing and stumbling China, and even trying to harass, block and interrupt China’s development process?
In other words, since the mainstream media in the United States are so keen on concocting the “theory of China’s collapse”, the United States just needs to lie there quietly and wait for China to collapse. Why do they bother to contain, suppress, contain and slander China?
In the words of Chinese netizens, is this too “split personality”?
The only explanation is that they themselves do not believe that China will collapse, so they are so nervous, afraid and worried about China’s development, so they do not speak any morality and rules to contain China.
Well, the mainstream media in the United States have repeatedly hyped the “China collapse theory”. What do they want to do?
In fact, they have never tried to influence the United States’ own China policy by criticizing China. In that case, from trump to Biden, the two consecutive presidents of the United States should sleep peacefully in the White House. Why bother to focus on China?
The mainstream media in the United States have clear class interests, party interests and national interests of the United States. They will not deceive the “elite” of the United States. They will at most deceive the ordinary people of the United States and make them feel that their anti China is correct and promising.
The mainstream media in the United States concocted these “China collapse theories” that they do not believe in themselves. There is also a more important and sinister goal, that is, to disrupt the Chinese people’s judgment of their own national situation, destroy the Chinese people’s confidence in their own country’s development prospects, and finally let the United States “win without a fight” in the Sino US game.
This is actually a “public opinion war” and also a “cognitive war”.
The United States used this tactic against the Soviet Union in the last cold war, and the effect was very good.
They certainly want to apply this trick to China again.
For the people in China, in the process of Sino US game, we should neither be arrogant nor belittle ourselves.
China has a large population, a weak foundation, few resources and a late start. At any time, China faces many problems, difficulties and challenges in its development.
Socialism with Chinese characteristics has never boasted of being perfect. We should always seek truth from facts and keep pace with the times.
However, when we are discussing various problems and shortcomings in China, we are seeking truth from facts to face the problems and finally solve the problems. This in itself is a manifestation of full confidence.
When the mainstream media in the United States concoct and disseminate various “theories of China’s collapse”, they want to exaggerate, outline and put on the line the specific problems existing in China’s economic and social development, and ultimately come to the preset conclusion that “the socialist system with Chinese characteristics is not working”.
They do this not only to make themselves “feel good”, but also to confuse the hearts of the people in China.
In this regard, we must have sufficient vigilance.
In the past many years, I myself have gradually built up my “immunity” by discrediting, slandering, attacking and praising China in the western media step by step.
Because, I know, China’s affairs ultimately depend on the Chinese themselves.
How can these Westerners be kind enough to help the Chinese realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation?
When China was at its weakest in modern times, they bullied and squeezed the Chinese people one by one like vultures and sharks.
Now, when they find that the Chinese people have stood up and become strong, they will never share with us the joy of China’s success. If they do not do evil or commit iniquities, it will not conform to the nature of imperialism.
In addition, I know not only China but also the United States.
For a country whose ancestors brutally slaughtered Indians, wantonly sold black slaves and shamelessly excluded China, how qualified are they to be a “teacher” for China on the human rights issue today?
For a country that holds washing powder in the UN Security Council and counterfeits it as evidence of weapons of mass destruction, and for a country that has waged endless wars and indiscriminately killed innocent people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria, how qualified are they to dress up as “international human rights defenders”?
For a country whose national debt far exceeds the total GDP and can only use the hegemony of the US dollar to cut the leeks in the world, for a country where drugs are rampant and gun violence is out of control, and for a country where there is a large trade deficit all the year round and the largest export product is not only energy but also energy, how can we say that “China is going to be ruined”?
……
I hope that the good Chinese people will wake up early. We should not have any illusions about the United States, especially about the arms dealers, Wall Street capital tycoons, big capitalists and various interest groups that control the United States. We should not only have no illusions, but also have a sober understanding of their anti China and anti china nature.
We must not fall for their repeated hype about the “China collapse theory”.
I have read so many facts and data comparing China and the United States in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, culture and so on. I can clearly say that if one of the two countries is doomed to collapse, it must be the United States, not China.
To tell the truth, the United States now has a lot of small moves, tricks and tricks against China, many of which are dazzling.
However, if you look carefully, there is a lot of water in these small moves of the United States.
Take the US government’s forcing Taiwan and South Korean chip enterprises to set up factories in the United States as an example. Because the cost in the United States is many times higher, some chip enterprises have “dawdled” with the US government, verbally promised to invest and started construction in a pretentious manner, but the progress is slow and it is impossible to put into production. The reason is very simple. These enterprises are not fools. The US government forces them to do things that violate the principles of market economy. Even if they refuse to do so, they will delay and wait for change. They all know very well where Biden will be two or three years from now, and they still don’t know.
For the people in China, seeing that the mainstream media in the United States continue to spread the “China collapse theory”, it is good to take it as a joke. The more the United States wants to mess up the Chinese people’s understanding and confidence in its own country, the more we need to stay sober, seek truth from facts, and have a clear idea.
As for the various tricks and tricks that the United States has played against China, we will regard them as a sharpening on the road of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
All those who can’t kill you will only make you stronger.
For China, the same is true!
