The conditions proposed by China can be said to be the minimum requirements. Let’s look at three bottom lines: first, the United States must not challenge, slander or even try to subvert the path and system of socialism with Chinese characteristics; Second, the United States should not try to obstruct or even interrupt China’s development process; Third, the United States must not infringe on China’s national sovereignty, let alone undermine China’s territorial integrity. Can such conditions be lower? No lower! The two lists put forward by China to the United States are also the wrong decisions made by the United States against China by violating China’s rights and interests.
Are these conditions proposed by China excessive? Of course, it’s not too much. It can be said to be the minimum requirement. Without these, how can China and the United States continue to talk? Is the result of China’s talks with the United States that China cuts meat and feeds the United States? 1.4 billion Chinese people don’t agree!
Therefore, after China puts forward the relevant conditions, it means that if the United States does not comply with the conditions put forward by China, it will be difficult for the two sides to reach substantive agreements in relevant fields. This is the fundamental reason why China and the United States have talked so much and no substantive agreements have been reached in the past year. The logic of China is very simple. How can you talk about it if you don’t respect my national interests and the interests of our enterprises?
Of course, the Biden administration also conceded one thing, that is, to let Meng Wanzhou return home, that is, in the “two lists”, the United States chose the easiest to achieve and gave China an attitude. Of course, it is precisely because of this attitude that China and the United States can continue to talk. However, after the United States made concessions on the issue of Meng Wanzhou’s return to China, others stopped making concessions and still tried to infringe on China’s national rights and interests. Therefore, China and the United States have not reached any substantive agreement so far.
Just imagine that China’s requirements are so low, in fact, it is a condition that can’t be lower. You and the United States don’t agree. That means that China should be the servant of the United States and bend its knees to the United States. How is this possible? The war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea in 1950 proved that China led by the Communist Party of China will not bow to U.S. imperialism. The 1953 armistice agreement has also told the United States that China can make the United States look for teeth and have to recognize China’s conditions. Both sides believe that this dialogue is substantive and constructive, which helps to enhance mutual understanding, reduce misunderstandings and miscalculations, and accumulate conditions for future high-level exchanges between the two countries.
We can see from the wording of the official news that this meeting is extraordinary. The so-called comprehensive, is to talk about everything, all-round talk; In depth means that we have talked about all kinds of contradictions and problems in depth, and their concerns, positions and attitudes; The so-called honesty means that everyone has not avoided major contradictions between the two sides; For a long time, it shows that the two sides will not shy away from extensive and in-depth talks. Finally, the conclusion of the meeting is: substantive and constructive. How to understand materiality? That is, the issues discussed by both sides are very practical, all international and regional issues of concern to both sides; The so-called constructive means that although there are great differences, everyone believes that further communication can be made. Moreover, its role is to enhance mutual understanding and reduce misunderstanding and miscarriage of justice. There is also a possibility buried here, that is, if China and the United States have some major breakthroughs on some major issues, there will be conditions for future high-level exchanges between the two countries, which is the connotation of accumulating conditions for future high-level exchanges.
In the face of the United States, Chinese leaders clearly pointed out that China US relations have not yet come out of the dilemma created by the last US government, and even are encountering more and more challenges, which in fact clearly pointed out the current situation of China US relations, and proposed that the bilateral relations are in danger of being further led astray. So, how can we get China US relations out of trouble? Chinese leaders also made it clear that only the consensus reached by the two heads of state can be seriously implemented. China has been promoting the development of China US relations in accordance with the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation put forward by China’s top leaders, while the United States needs to implement President Biden’s “four no’s and one no’s”.
With regard to Biden’s “four no’s and one no’s”, State Councilor and foreign minister Wangyi also directly emphasized to the United States that since the United States promised not to seek to change the Chinese system, it should respect the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics chosen by the Chinese people and stop smearing and attacking China’s political system and domestic and foreign policies. Since the United States promised not to seek to fight a “new cold war”, it should abandon the Cold War mentality, not engage in zero sum games, and stop pulling gangs and forming “small circles”. Since the United States has promised that it has no intention of conflict with China, it should respect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stop interfering in China’s internal affairs, and do not harm China’s legitimate interests under the banner of human rights and democracy. The United States should also cancel the tariffs imposed on China as soon as possible and stop unilateral sanctions against Chinese enterprises.
In response to the so-called “fence” of China US relations that the United States has always emphasized, China’s position this time is also very clear, directly telling the United States that the three joint communiques between China and the United States are the most reliable “protection” of the two countries. Only by earnestly fulfilling their commitments in the three joint communiques, bilateral relations will not be derailed and out of control, otherwise no amount of “fence” will work. The Chinese leader’s words are very serious. On the one hand, it shows that the United States wants to play the Taiwan card when it wants the so-called “fence”, and wants China to turn a blind eye to the United States’ helping the Taiwan authorities engage in “Taiwan independence”. This time, China has actually directly denied the United States’ request for a “safety fence” guarantee here in China. Conversely, the above sentence means that there is no security if the three joint communiques are not observed. In fact, the subtext of this is that the United States wants China to give up “military unification” of Taiwan, which China clearly refuses. It’s also funny to think about the United States. China has the anti secession law. Can things stipulated by the law be flexible? What’s more, there is no room for flexibility for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At this meeting, a very important point is that China has put forward four lists to the United States: a list of policies and words and deeds that require the United States to correct mistakes in China, a list of key cases that China is concerned about, a list of China related bills that China is concerned about, and a list of eight areas of cooperation between China and the United States. It is hoped that the United States will take them seriously. In fact, these four lists tell the United States that in order to have a good relationship between China and the United States, the United States must meet China’s requirements on these issues, otherwise China and the United States will still be unable to reach more compromises.
The United States is committed to controlling risk factors in bilateral relations and is open to cooperation with China.
Antony Blinken’s words are nice, but what he said and what he did are completely contrary. How can this satisfy China? Therefore, Chinese leaders emphasize “implement”, otherwise these commitments will be equal to zero.
In fact, from this meeting, we can see that China has made a very detailed and thorough showdown with the United States. If the United States wants to do anything for China, it must implement the four lists, otherwise nothing can be reached.
Seeing China’s statement and four lists, I have to say that China is now tougher than the United States. No matter what the United States does, China will not yield to the United States. However, the United States regards China as its first opponent, which means that the battle between China and the United States will last for a long time, and China needs to be prepared for a hard war!
