Guan Yu immediately
Seeing that everyone is talking about the “Three Kingdoms”, commenting on the “Three Kingdoms” and entertaining the “Three Kingdoms”, I can’t help itching. I want to make some comments on the author of the romance of the Three Kingdoms, Mr. Luo Guanzhong. Because in the process of praising Liu and criticizing Cao, teacher Luo made some mistakes that are hard to justify. In today’s words, he is “going through gangs”.
As we all know, Guan Yu, the “God”, was first carefully shaped by teacher Luo Guanzhong. He spent a lot of effort to bring his hero to life. For example, the allusion of “getting on the horse for gold and getting off the horse for silver”, which is well-known at home, is about Cao Cao’s preferred attitude towards Guan Yu. This story not only reflects that Cao Cao is a master of talent, but also implies Guan Yu’s heroic nature of “being rich, noble and not lusty”. However, it is in this chapter that something goes wrong. Whether Guan Yu was “captured and demoted to Cao” or “voluntarily surrendered” is not clear in the history books. The biography of Emperor Wu in the annals of the Three Kingdoms states that “… Prepare to go to bengshao and get his wife. Prepare to garrison Guan Yu to Pei and attack him again, and Yu will fall.” However, in the annals of the Three Kingdoms, Shu Shu, biography of the first lord, it is said that “in five years, Cao Gong fought against the first lord in the East, and the first lord failed. Cao Gong collected all his people, captured the wife of the first lord, and captured Guan Yu.” In this regard, teacher Luo Guanzhong adopted the first statement, that is, to demote Cao. In the 25th chapter of the romance of the Three Kingdoms, Guan Yu said to Zhang Liao: “I will only surrender to the Han Emperor, not Cao Cao.” That’s understandable. Because the great hero in teacher Luo’s heart is either victorious or dead in battle. How can he be captured alive? Since he was not captured, he surrendered voluntarily. However, if we want to describe Guan Yu in this way, we will not only fail to create this God, but also collapse Guan Yu’s images of “loyalty and awe inspiring” and “mighty and unyielding”. Therefore, teacher Luo arranged for Guan Yu to “surrender only Emperor Han, not Cao Cao.” Luo Guanzhong’s ingenious “control” of Guan Yu should be perfect. Anyway, in the past, I never stopped to think about it, whether it was turning over the romance of the Three Kingdoms, the annals of the Three Kingdoms, or watching movies and television of the Three Kingdoms. This time, under the influence of the national entertainment “Three Kingdoms” and the stimulation of the new “Three Kingdoms” TV series, I can’t help but think of “Guan Yu only subdues the Han Emperor, not Cao Cao”. The more I think about it, the more I feel that teacher Luo Guanzhong is helping here. Because the emperor at that time was still the Han Emperor (although he was only the nominal “head of state”), Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Guan Yu and other heroes of the three countries should be the ministers of the Han Emperor. Since he is a minister, it seems that there is no question of capitulation or non surrender. However, in order to beautify or deify Guan Yu, teacher Luo arranges Guan Yu to do so, and Guan Yu proudly tells Zhang Liao, a senior general of Cao Cao, fearing that others might not know. In this way, it is exposed that since Guan Yu is the Minister of the Han Emperor, he is now surrendering to the Han Emperor, which is tantamount to admitting that he is a rogue minister and thief? Disorderly officials and thieves and a “God” are indeed thousands of miles away from each other!
