Seeing the news of President Jiang’s death, I felt very sudden and sad; Pictures of many past events come to mind.
I am a post-80s generation, born in the most basic village.
As an ordinary citizen:
For Chairman Mao, the first generation of the country’s leading core, I have only been exposed to words and images; No intuitive impression.
I don’t have a lot of direct impression on Deng, the chief designer of the second generation of national leaders, due to his younger age; The deepest memory is that the chief designer died on the eve of Hong Kong’s return in 1997, leaving a regret that he could not go to see Hong Kong after its return.
My most direct impression of the state leaders began with President Jiang.
The first memory is when I was in primary school. At that time, the classroom of the school in the village was a row of ordinary brick houses with a large courtyard in front of it. Next to the courtyard was a meeting room, with a portrait of Marnes on the wall. On the wall outside the conference room is written the words that President Jiang is the third generation of the country’s leading core.
At that time, I didn’t understand the meaning of those words, but they became a part of my primary school memory.
After studying in middle school, I often met President Jiang’s Three Represents in textbooks and test papers. From the perspective of ordinary students, President Jiang is a symbol that cannot be circumvented after 1980.
What I remember about President Jiang is the scenes when Hong Kong and Macao returned to China. At that time, although I was relatively young and didn’t understand many things, I could feel the optimism from TV and newspapers.
My deepest memory is the flood fighting in 1998.
In that year, the Yangtze River was hit by unprecedented floods, and the lives and property of the people in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River were threatened as never before. In Chinese history, every flood of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River caused huge damage.
The moment of life and death,
The common people hold their ground to defend their homes;
People’s Liberation Army soldiers come from heaven, and they will never retreat with the common people, even if they fight with the flood with flesh and blood;
Regardless of their personal safety, President Jiang and Premier Zhu came to the front to command the army and civilians in the decisive battle against the flood.
The whole country worked together and finally created a miracle in the history of flood fighting.
The spirit of fighting against floods in September 8th has become a symbol of the Chinese nation’s perseverance in the face of disasters.
Later, every time I listened to the song “For Whom”, I felt that my blood was hot, and I would remember those unforgettable pictures engraved in my mind.
Looking back on my life, it is from the flood fighting in 1998 that:
I have learned that the people’s soldiers are not just a few words, but also mean coming from and going to the people;
I also understood Chairman Mao’s statement that “the army and the people are united as one, and we can see who can defeat them”. This “who” means not only the enemy with guns, but also the enemy without guns;
I feel that our nation has suffered many disasters. For the first time, I understood the weight of the four words “family and country feelings” in a hazy way. The second time I understood the weight of “family and country feelings” was that the US imperialist bombed the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia in 1999; It made me understand that it is not easy for the country to hide its strength and bide its time these years.
Hearing the news of President Jiang’s death, I wrote this in a sad and hasty manner. At this moment, the lyrics of For Whom are hovering in my mind:
Mud wrapped around the trouser legs
Sweat soaked through the back
I don’t know who you are
But I know who you are for
For whom, for the harvest of autumn
For the return of wild geese in spring
……
Old people, go well all the way; You will be remembered and re recognized by many people.
