Since it is Qu Yuan’s holiday, today’s article will start with Qu Yuan.

When I was a child, my teacher said that Qu Yuan was a patriotic poet, and the Dragon Boat Festival was to commemorate him. I couldn’t understand it at that time. If you were a poet, you wouldn’t let everyone remember thousands of years.

Later on, when I was flipping through history books, I finally understood that, similar to Wang Anshi, Qu Yuan was indeed a writer, but also a reformer.

The commemoration of Qu Yuan by the people of Chu is a regret that Chu did not follow Qu Yuan’s reform, which ultimately led to its downfall by the State of Qin.

Of course, Qu Yuan’s reform was not pushed forward, not because his plan was wrong, but because the State of Chu where he lived was the most difficult one among the seven heroes of the Seven Warring States.

Compared with the Li Xuan Reform in the State of Wei, the Shang Yang Reform in the State of Qin, the Wuling Wang in the State of Zhao, the Shen Buhai Reform in the Republic of Korea, and the Leyi Reform in the State of Yan, among the heroes of the Warring States Period, it happened that the three hegemons in the Spring and Autumn period, the State of Chu, the State of Qi replaced by Tian, and the State of Jin divided by three families, did not complete the reform.

The King of Chu also did not want to reform. As the last hegemon of the Spring and Autumn period, he created a large number of vested interest groups, which became the biggest obstacle to reform. King Dao of Chu of Chu used Wu Qi to reform, but he died suddenly, and the nobles chopped Wu Qi together.

When King Huai of Chu of Chu succeeded to the throne and Qu Yuan reformed, the same was true. After the reform was half done, he rose up and deposed Qu Yuan. King Huai of Chu of Chu himself fooled him into going to the State of Qin.

The Qu Yuan style curse of reform cannot be broken. Through the trial and error of reformers, everyone has found a pattern. Reform must choose a place where the strength of vested interest groups is weakest.

With the reform and opening up of New China, the “reform” did not choose Heilongjiang, the most fertile land, but chose Anhui, where Hongwu Emperor, a beggar from poverty, was the best. The “opening up” denied the most powerful “eldest son” Liaoning plan, but chose Shenzhen, where birds do not shit.

This is an effective solution that our generation has explored from the past, so looking at something happening around us from this perspective won’t feel so strange.

The one that brought smoke and fire to the whole country and changed the closed mindset during the epidemic period is not the one hundred first and second tier civilized cities selected nationwide every year, but Zibo, which has been difficult to see from the book since the Six Kingdoms’ invasion of Qi.

The drastic reform of the Football Association and Basketball Association is not in the first and second tier cities with famous teams and stars, but in the poorest Guizhou province in the country, where village BA and village super league are established.

The urban management and civilization offices of other cities cannot manage Zibo, and with the great fire of Zibo barbecue, the mentality of strict control in various regions has also been changed in the past three years, and spontaneous fireworks and gas have emerged on the streets of various regions.

The inspection team of the Football Association cannot manage the Guizhou Village Super League, and professional commentators cannot bring pace with their bombardment. Therefore, sports activities in various regions have spontaneously started.

Of course, I’m not claiming that the Zibo barbecue or Guizhou village supermarket models are right, but rather that the things they break are right.

Just like Xiaogang Village in the past, although it still relies on national relief to survive, it has successfully broken the ideological shackles of a generation, allowing one billion people to find the most effective solutions through continuous practice.

So, let’s look at Ma Yun and Liu Qiangdong, the richest people in China. This wave is also after the major personnel adjustment, and also focuses on more changed small and medium-sized businesses, hoping to see changes.

The developed country brothers of the United States and the European Union, led by the world’s richest men such as Gates, Buffett, and Musk, have also returned to the most creative and diverse Asia after thoroughly eliminating a wave of global Trump’s legacy.

The biggest change that hasn’t happened in a hundred years is a change of character.

In the past six months, various countries and enterprises, like those in the Warring States period, have successively initiated “reforms”, and their economies and foreign policies have undergone earth shaking changes.

For us personally, the closed mindset developed during the pandemic must be actively broken in order to keep up with the times and the footsteps of our country.

For China, it is necessary to replicate the successful experience of the Qin State back then, use its institutional advantages to concentrate its forces and make a first mover, sweeping through the Six Harmonies, and becoming a major winner in this round of productivity reforms.
