Today, the editor of chinastory.com has brought you an article about journey to the West. Welcome to read it~

On the way to the west, Monk Tang and his disciples came to the Guanyin Buddhist temple. Guanyin Buddhist temple is a temple mainly dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva, as the chief executive of the three realms learning project, her ashram, according to common sense, should have been safe.

Unexpectedly, the problem lies in our own territory and our own people.

Because the abbot of Guanyin Buddhist temple wants to explore the “solid foundation” and housekeeping skills of the eminent monks from far east! So, he led the snake out of the cave and asked the monkey king to take out his magic weapon – the brocade cassock.

It’s also strange that Tang Monk’s ears are too soft. He knows that he is out of the door, and he doesn’t want to show his wealth, let alone fight against others! Know more about the rare and funny things, which can’t be seen by the treacherous and greedy people, but it just doesn’t stand the encouragement of Wukong, and half reveals the cassock from the gift bag.

“I’m not afraid of thieves, but I’m afraid of thieves!” Tang Monk’s “showing wealth” made the abbot miss it. The abbot became addicted until he cried in his eyes and took the cassock back to his room for a closer look.

I’m fascinated and want to be greedy for myself. So he had the evil intention of murdering Tang Monk’s teachers and disciples.

Yuan Yiyuan noticed that the way the Chinese father-in-law in journey to the West took to harm people was to set fire to the Zen hall where the Tang Monk’s teachers and disciples lived.

In the dead of night, the sound of monks moving firewood in the Guanyin Buddhist temple had already alerted the monkey king. Knowing the evil heart of the abbot and monks, monkey king went straight to heaven to borrow the fire shield of the king of wide eyes.

Guangmu heavenly king told him frankly that someone wanted to set fire to Tang monk. He should ask the Dragon King to borrow water to save him. Why did he borrow a fire shield?

Some people with traditional cultural knowledge of the book of changes also know that water can overcome fire and put out fire better.

The way that king Guangmu told Wukong was indeed the way to solve the problem.

However, sun Dasheng has his own reason: where do you know that if you use water to put out a fire, the fire will not burn, but it is cheaper for villains. Just use a fire shield to protect master from harm. Whatever else, just burn it

The king of wide eyes smiled and said: this monkey has a bad heart and cares only about his own family, regardless of others!

According to the original book of journey to the west, the king of wide eyes dares not to borrow it. Wukong saved the Tang monk with a fire mask, but he let the wind help the fire to burn the Guanyin Temple clean.

Holding the fire mask, when the monkey king went to heaven and returned to Zhao, the king of wide eyes stopped the monkey king again and said that he had not seen him for many days. Please sit less in the palace and have a good tea before you leave.

But Sun Dasheng refused, on the grounds that he would protect Tang monk. He would not be idle for a moment, and he would talk about it later!

Then, the king of wide eyes stopped Sun Wukong twice and again, but he wanted to say he would stop. What on earth did he want to do?

You should know that in the romance of gods and journey to the west, the king of wide eyes is mentioned, which is also known as the king of wide eyes in the west, and its name is magic ceremony and longevity. It is one of the four heavenly kings of Buddhism, responsible for guarding the safety of the “west gate” of the heaven.

Guangmu heavenly king is one of the Dharma guardians of Buddhism and one of the patrons of the heavenly court, holding an important position; Guanyin Bodhisattva is not only one of the four Bodhisattvas in Buddhism, but also one of the five elders in the five directions. He also has a high position and influence in heaven.

All of them are “a family”. The king of wide eyes dare not and cannot do anything that offends Guanyin Bodhisattva, not to mention that he has long been aware of Wukong’s intention to burn Guanyin temple.

“Yuan Yiyuan” noticed that when Wukong borrowed the fire cover, the king of wide eyes once reminded him, “I’m afraid it’s a bad heart”. You can’t just care about yourself and ignore others!

When the fire burned the Guanyin Buddhist temple and Wukong also opened a fire cover, the king of wide eyes wanted to kindly remind Wukong to go to the Guanyin Bodhisattva earlier to apologize and be lenient.

But at the beginning of learning sutras, Monkey King was still a little restless, and he didn’t know how deep the water in the West was, so he couldn’t listen to the advice at all.

It was not until Wukong and black bear Jing fought neck and neck, but they couldn’t get back master’s cassock, that they remembered to get help from Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea.

On Luojia mountain, Guanyin Bodhisattva just saw Sunwukong, and he was not angry with him: whoever stole the cassock, he would go! It’s you who show off the Buddha’s treasure, which makes the villain malicious, and also calls the wind to get angry, burning my Buddhist temple

Sun Dasheng originally wanted to kill two birds with one stone when the abbot and monks burned the master, report the resentment of Guanyin Bodhisattva who asked him to wear the hoop curse, and at the same time punish and teach the monks who did not mean well, so as to establish their own authority.

Hearing these words of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Sun Wukong really appreciated the great power of Bodhisattva and just understood the intention of Guangmu heavenly king to keep him in his heart.

Fortunately, monkey king turned around in time and apologized to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Only then did the contradictions and misunderstandings between the two sides slowly disappear!
