After the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the separation of Russia and Ukraine, the “Ukrainian Chemical Ammonia Transport Group Company” and the “Russian Ammonia Transport Company” became commercial cooperation models.
Due to the special importance of the “Tolyatti Odesa” pipeline to Ukraine, as long as Ukraine pays on time (preferential price) and allows Russian companies to export through Port of Odesa, the two parties can continue to cooperate.

After Ukraine lasted for a year, its farmers couldn’t bear it either. The cheap and abundant supply of fertilizers had become a major problem.
This year, under the coordination of the United Nations and other major countries, Russia and Ukraine finally reached the Black Sea Food Transport Agreement, but Ukraine still refuses to solve the problem of “liquid ammonia entering the Black Sea from Port of Odesa”.
After the expiration of the agreement on May 18th, Russia once again requested that the issue of “liquid ammonia transit” be explicitly included in the agreement. Otherwise, the Russian side refused to extend the agreement.
On June 2, the United Nations Security Council invited Ukraine, Russia and Türkiye to hold consultations to solve the “transit of liquid ammonia” problem. However, among the five great philanthropists, the United States and Britain were negative.
As a result, just before the negotiation was started, the “Tolyatti Odesa” pipeline was blown up.
