“We will fight to the end at all costs and at all costs”.
Chinese Defense Minister weifenghe’s statement at the Shangri La dialogue meeting that he resolutely smashed the “Taiwan independence” plot has aroused widespread concern in international public opinion. Some US media said that this was a “tough counterattack” by the Chinese Defense Minister against the US remarks related to Taiwan.
During this incense session, US Defense Secretary Austin not only repeatedly preached and played up the Taiwan issue, but also significantly increased the series. In his talks with defense ministers of Japan, Australia and other countries, “the Taiwan issue was mentioned for the first time” and “the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait” was emphasized “
As we all know, the United States, as an external force, has encouraged and supported “Taiwan independence” and has done many activities to aggravate the turmoil in the Taiwan Strait, but now it is actually shouting “the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”.
What an ironic scene.
“Taiwan independence is a dead end, delusion! You can’t succeed by relying on foreign countries and self-respect. No way!!”
At the Shangri La dialogue meeting, Chinese State Councilor and defense minister weifenghe so forcefully warned the “Taiwan independence” elements and the forces behind them.
This meaning was expressed by Wei Fenghe at the incense meeting three years ago.
In 2019, weifenghe also specifically talked about the Taiwan issue, but now with the blessing of three “absolutes”, the flavor of this year is obviously different: “the reunification of the motherland is absolutely necessary”, “there is absolutely no good end to engaging in” Taiwan independence “secession” and “the interference of external forces will never succeed”.
In fact, China will also involve these three views in 2019.
In 2019, Wei Feng and spoke politely about an episode: “when I visited the United States last year (2018), American friends told me that Lincoln became the greatest president in American history because he led to win the civil war and prevented the division of the United States.”
Since “the unity of the United States is indivisible”, Americans should also understand and accept China’s “unity is indivisible”.
This year, there will be no such foreshadowing. When Wei Fenghe came up, he said unequivocally that “the reunification of the motherland is absolutely necessary” and that “no one and no force can stop the reunification”.
It goes without saying who these people and forces are trying to block the historical trend of China’s reunification.
As for “no attempt to split China can succeed”. This year’s advanced version is to engage in “Taiwan independence” separatism. Of course, it will not succeed, and “it will never come to a good end.”.
What if someone doesn’t believe in this evil?
In 2019, the Chinese side added the following sentence: “we will fight to the end”.
The “strong determination” and “firm will” of the Chinese people’s Liberation Army to defend and defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity are beyond doubt and cannot be underestimated.
In addition, there is a change and a change worth a product.
Today, weifenghe mentioned the word “civil war”: “in those days, the United States fought a civil war for national reunification. China was very reluctant to have such a civil war, but it will resolutely smash any attempt to ‘Taiwan independence’.”
The implication is very clear. We still adhere to the policy of peaceful reunification, but if “Taiwan independence” and the forces behind it do their part, we will “not hesitate to fight”.
Of course, compared with three years ago, China still maintains “the greatest sincerity” and continues to make “the greatest and most sincere efforts”.
The Taiwan issue is a major topic of intense exchanges between China and the rest of the world at this year’s Hong Kong incense Festival.
Especially the United States.
In his keynote speech on the 11th, U.S. Secretary of defense Austin was somewhat secretive at the beginning, talking about “the next step of the U.S. Indo Pacific strategy”, claiming to promote regional freedom and openness and promote regional prosperity through the Indo Pacific strategy.
Of course, everyone knows that the so-called “Indo Pacific strategy” means that Washington is helping to form a “small circle” and unilaterally bullying in the name of multilateralism.
However, Austin was not satisfied with such “euphemism” soon. After making a statement on “rule-based international order”, he changed the subject and accused China by name.
Austin listed a lot of “accusations”: the Taiwan issue, the East China Sea issue, the South China Sea issue, China India border dispute, and “intercepting” other countries’ aircraft
Lt. Gen. he Lei, former vice president of the Academy of Military Sciences, said frankly that Austin’s speech was the most explicit and comprehensive slander against China in all the speeches of the US Defense Changxiang society. He first mentioned the East China Sea issue and the Sino Indian border dispute.
The Taiwan issue is an old topic for the US defense ministers’ meeting.
Austin has no longer covered up the U.S. attempt to internationalize the Taiwan issue: “maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is not just the interests of the United States. This is an issue of international concern.”
In addition to personally taking part in the battle, the United States has encouraged several younger brothers in its “small circle” to hype Taiwan related issues wantonly, which has also become a prominent phenomenon during this “incense party”.
Austin has been stirring up this issue in both the meeting of defense ministers of China and the United States and in his separate speeches. However, in Washington’s view, it is not enough to exaggerate the “strength”. As a result, the talks between the defense ministers of the United States, Japan and the ROK on the 11th were also linked to Taiwan related issues.
The defense ministers of the three countries met offline for the first time since november2019. They had a lot of concerns, such as whether the new government of South Korea could repair relations with Japan, how the three countries coordinate their positions on the Peninsula issue, and so on. However, the fact is that the most exciting information in the joint statement after the meeting was the “dark criticism” of China and the “first mention” of Taiwan related issues.
The statement “strongly opposes unilateral actions in the Indo Pacific region that attempt to change the status quo and exacerbate tensions”, and also said that “we are concerned about activities that do not conform to the rules based international order”. Japan’s Kyodo news agency put it mildly, saying that it was “considering China”.
However, there is also something in the statement that is not euphemistic, that is, it directly “emphasizes the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”. This is the “first time Taiwan has been mentioned” by the defense ministers’ meeting of the three countries.
Later on the 11th, the defense minister of the United States and Japan met with the new defense minister of Australia, John Burroughs. The major media in the United States and Europe paid little attention to what the three people talked about. They guessed that they wanted to “criticize China”.
In the statement after the meeting, the three expressed “concern” about the East China Sea and the South China Sea, saying they would “participate more in the construction of the South Pacific”, and “emphasize the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”.
They have stepped up their series and forcibly intervened in the Taiwan issue, and they have not even bothered to change the words that they whitewash themselves.
Indeed, peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are extremely important. However, as we all know, the situation in the Taiwan Strait has been turbulent in recent years. The main culprit is the collusion and rash advance of the “Taiwan independence” forces on the island and the external “Pro independence” forces.
But far from it, how much has the United States done to undermine the stability of the Taiwan Strait this year alone?
The US Congress deliberated and passed a number of Taiwan related bills, including banning “Taiwan included in the map of China” and helping Taiwan restore its observer status with the WHO; The US executive department once deleted the expression “not supporting Taiwan independence” in its explanation of Taiwan policy; Several successive arms sales to Taiwan and visits to Taiwan by members of parliament; Biden even “promised” to defend Taiwan militarily during his visit to Japan
What an ironic scene it is to “emphasize the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait” while doing things that encourage “Taiwan independence” and undermine stability in the Taiwan Strait.
It can be seen that Washington is stepping up the internationalization of the Taiwan issue.
An American scholar believes that this is because the United States is more and more aware of the danger of playing the “Taiwan card”, so it wants to attract more allies and partners to build momentum.
But at present, apart from the United States and other countries, Japan and Macao, especially Japan, are the most popular countries on the Taiwan Strait issue.
Former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida once again mentioned in his speech that “today’s Ukraine may be tomorrow’s East Asia”, claiming that the Taiwan issue may “pose an imminent threat” to peace in East Asia. Later, the defense minister Nobuo Kishida urged Japan to “guard against Chinese Mainland” which “seems not to give up the possibility of using force against Taiwan”.
But apart from Japan and Australia, who else echoes the US hype on Taiwan related issues?
There is almost no one. An expert roughly concluded that the actual situation is that most third world countries do not support the speculation on the Taiwan Strait issue, ASEAN countries do not want to get involved, and South Korea, the key ally of the United States in East Asia, does not have much willingness to participate.
In other words, the effect of this series of hype by the United States in Hong Kong is quite limited.
Wei Fenghe emphasized that the PLA would “fight at all costs” in order to smash the “Taiwan independence” plot, which not only clearly demonstrated China’s strong determination and firm will to safeguard its own core interests and realize the reunification of the motherland, but also a tit for tat response to the words and deeds of the United States related to Taiwan, and a solemn warning to Japan, Australia and other accomplices.
